After seven years as part of the highly-successful ZOEgirl, Alisa Childers is leaving the group at the end of 2006 to pursue her career as a solo artist.
ZOEgirl exploded on the scene in 2000, becoming the fastest-selling debut artist in the 26-year history of Sparrow Records. Since their inception, ZOEgirl has sold over one million records worldwide.
“I have had such a great time with Kristin and Chrissy pursuing the call of God on ZOEgirl and I will treasure all those memories forever,” says Childers. ”However, it’s become evident to me that God is leading me to focus more on other songs I have written over the years and to give them a voice.
“I will forever be grateful to Norman Miller and Peter York who put ZOEgirl together and were the first ones in the industry to believe in me and give me a chance,” Childers added.
Childers is working with R.L.M./Mission Management who currently represent rock, pop, and country artists including Little Big Town.
ZOEgirl’s latest release, The Early Years, is a collection of early hits. Check it out on the group’s YMZ artist page.
