Slanted Records recording artists After Edmund are slated to perform alongside rock icons Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, The Bravery and others this Sunday night, August 3rd, at the Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta, Ga. The band, one of three winners of MTV2’s Rock the Revolution contest in the Atlanta area, was awarded a performance at the show which is part of the national Projekt Revolution Tour hitting over 20 cities this summer.
“We are proud to have been chosen to perform,” stated keyboard player Yates. “To get an opportunity like this is encouraging. We’ve been at this a while; sometimes it’s good to feel like the hard work pays off. There are some great bands coming out of the Atlanta area. We consider it an honour to be among them and are grateful to everyone who voted.”
After Edmund’s debut release, Hello, hit shelves in February garnering acclaim by various industry insiders. Known for their high-energy live set and their distinct modern rock style, the band has recently been featured on various summer festivals and TV shows including “Good Day Atlanta”, “Live at NINE” and “Positively Arkansas” among others.
After Edmund, who just returned from their first overseas tour to Sweden, will be hitting the road in the fall alongside Building 429 and Addison Road for a 30-city nation-wide tour. The band’s latest single “Clouds” has just been released to Christian CHR stations everywhere.
About Rock The Revolution
MTV2 Atlanta and Comcast challenged local artists to compete for the once-in-a-lifetime shot to open Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution. 140 artists entered and after more than one million votes, the fans declared their top twelve picks. MTV2’s music panel reviewed each finalist and after much deliberation, they selected three artists to represent Atlanta on the Revolution stage. Other winners included Green Eyed Stare and Alien Moon Base. MTV2 will be on hand to record the event.
