Teen girls trio The Rubyz prepare to unveil their self-titled April 1st debut with support of new label Advocate Entertainment/iShine Records. As a flagship group for Advocate Entertainment’s iShine label, helmed by President and CEO Robert Beeson, General Manager Troy Collins and well-known manager Jeff Risden (Relient K, OC Supertones, Paul Coleman), The Rubyz have support behind them that many aspiring artists can only dream of. Cammie Hall (17), Marissa Milele (14) and Alexis Slifer (13) were hand picked from hundreds of hopefuls to form The Rubyz and ultimately, according to Beeson, fill a void for the younger market that is “hungry for music”.

“We named the company Advocate Entertainment because that is what we really want to be an advocate for the artists and for music,” says Beeson. “For me, working with The Rubyz was a simple choice. I have three daughters myself, all right around this age, and it worried me that they would grow up without being ministered to… groups like The Rubyz, we can teach them how much they are loved and how much they are valued.”

Produced by Chris Omartian (Hilary Duff, Pink, Jump5) with Executive Producer singer/songwriter Joy Williams, the album’s fresh pop sound is filled with moral lyrics that are sure to be grasped by tweens and teens alike while championing the cause of the everyday girl.

“Being on the road full-time for 7 years only high-lighted how hungry girls are all over the world for music that speaks to their real life issues,” says Williams. “I am passionate about the Rubyz, and how this music could encourage girls everywhere.”

Following in the successful sound of today’s hottest teen stars, The Rubyz’ “meaningful and fun all in one lyrics” as band member Alexis Slifer describes covers everything from encouraging girls to act their age like in the song “Thirteen” to friendship found in track “Time of My Life”.

The group is also preparing for a spring iShine tour in May for which dates will be announced soon. To preview the album, visit the group’s YMZ artist page. You can also watch their EPK in the YMZ Media section. The Rubyz will be featured on HearItFirst.ca on March 21st.
