Karen Clark-Sheard picked up her fourth career Grammy® for her collaboration with Donnie McClurkin on “Wait On The Lord”, winner of Best Gospel Performance. In his acceptance speech, McClurkin reminded us to keep Haiti in our prayers.

A very pregnant Best Gospel Song winner Erica Campbell of Mary Mary mentioned that she and her sister Tina Campbell did not like “God In Me” very much. However, producer Warryn Campbell went ahead with the recording of it.

Tai Anderson was the sole representative of Third Day in attendance as several members were stuck due to the heavy snow storms in the mid-west. “We’re a Christian rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, who worked with a Jewish producer from Philadelphia in L.A… it made for an interesting combination,” says Anderson in his acceptance speech. He recounts how producer Howard Benson challenged the band to write songs that meant something to him as he did not “know the vocabulary”. The result is music that “cut to the heart”.

Both Israel Houghton and Aaron Lindsey both expressed their love for their wives who were in the audience.

After picking up Best Southern, Country, Or Bluegrass Gospel Album for his self-titled debut solo project, Jason Crabb expressed that he ”... never would have dreamed that this would ever happen to a small town Kentucky boy like myself, but God fulfills a lot of dreams.”

The 52nd GRAMMY Awards took place live on Sunday, January 31st at Staples Center in Los Angeles and was broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS (U.S.) and Global (Canada) Television Networks. The show was also supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at GRAMMY.com and CBS.com, and on YouTube.
