Artist Description | The Marshall McLuhan Project
After years fronting popular underground Atlanta-based rock band “Fear Glory,” Marshall (son in a family of ministers) found himself feeling like a prodigal son, longing for home. With the things of this world leaving him unfulfilled and empty, he rededicated his life to Christ and stepped down from his band.
Leaving the rock-n-roll lifestyle far behind, Marshall relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to reconnect with his family and to answer the call God had on his life. Feeling called to full-time ministry in 2001, he accepted a position as Worship Leader at North Ridge Community Church in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Shortly thereafter, he met producer Billy Smiley (WhiteHeart) through long-time mutual friend and mentor, Peter Furler of the NewsBoys. This led to the recording of Marshall’s debut international release on Cul-De-Sac Records with artists like Peter Furler, Sanctus Real, and WhiteHeart lending their talents.
Cul-de-Sac Records feels McLuhan’s debut offers listeners a sound that’s got an edge with a strong Christian message. Marshall believes that his ministry begins and ends with worship, but still feels that rock-n-roll can be used to reach the lost.
Whether it’s the harder-edged “Follow” or “Chameleon,” or the ballad “The Vine,” Marshall McLuhan promises to offer a diverse sound that can transcend generations and style of venues.
