Artist Description | Stephanie Israelson
Stephanie Israelson is a singer, songwriter, and recording artist from Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada. Stephanie is a passionate young woman with a love for God and a desire to know her Saviour deeply and share that zeal with others through her music. She has toured much of Canada and parts of the U.S., having sung in countless churches, performed in concerts, women’s conferences, and youth events, and lead praise and worship in various settings. Her pop/rock sound with an edge draws young people to her musical style as the message beats home and draws in the mature listener.
Stephanie’s singing career began as a young child. Born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, she was raised in a very musical family. From the age of 11, traveling, graduating through home school, and being on-stage by her parents’ side singing about Jesus was the norm throughout her Childhood/teen years! Starting out with gospel roots, Stephanie really came into a heart of passion for God through praise and worship music. Steph was the lead vocalist on 3 of her family’s recording projects, “The Evangels.”
In 2000, Stephanie recorded her debut album, Israelson with Galen Tough of Taming Hope Productions in Red Deer, AB. Stephanie went on to win the Gospel Music Association’s Canadian regional Artist Competition in Three Hills, AB that same year.
In July ‘06, Stephanie won the Life 100.3 Karaoke Superstar Competition in Barrie, Ontario. She recorded her first radio single, Lead Me There written by James Linderman of the Harmony House in Newmarket, ON. She recorded the song with Andrew Horrocks (Vineyard Canada, Lucerin Blue, Thousand Foot Krutch) at AME Recording Studio in Kitchener, ON. Horrocks is one of Canada’s top leading Christian producers, having previously been signed to Reunion Records with his band One Hundred Days. Stephanie’s radio single Lead Me There was released to radio in November ‘06 and quickly emerged to the Top 10 on the Cancon Adult Contemporary radio chart. The single is also being played on several American stations and in the U.K. Her latest single Free is beginning to hit the airwaves as well.
Currently, Stephanie is working with Andrew Horrocks to complete her new 13 song album to be released in June 2007. Stephanie’s heart and passion are clearly seen throughout the lyrics in the songs she has written for this project–from Mend My Heart, a song that everyday people can relate to of the spiritual battle within, to Spiritual Girl, a rockin tune written to encourage young girls to be strong in their faith, and Valley of Decision, a heart gripping ballad calling believers to reach out to the lost and hopeless. Stephanie desires that people not only enjoy listening to her music but are also challenged spiritually to become more active in their faith.
