The ministry of The Brooklyn Tabernacle was birthed out of a prayer meeting and has quickly grown as the direct result of God’s people faithfully continuing to pray and lift up the name of the Lord.
As God began to bless our church with even greater numbers of increasingly needy people from our community, we were thrust into a search for a larger, more appropriate church complex beginning in 1996. We felt that the Lord opened the door to a tremendous opportunity for growth in the location we now call the “New Campus” project in which we converted the fourth largest theatrical auditorium in New York City into a worship center as unto the glory of God.
A site of similar magnitude would have cost in the realm of $60 -$70 million to build from the ground up, but the Lord provided us with an opportunity to renovate existing structures to meet our newly expanded needs at a cost considerably less than that of new construction.
The New Campus site is located within ten minutes of our former site on Flatbush Avenue. This new location provides us with a Brooklyn facility within just minutes of the three neighboring New York City boroughs of Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island and less than one hour’s travel from our bordering state of New Jersey.
