The long awaited follow-up to his Juno Award-Winning debut, Greg Sczebel’s sophomore release, Love & the Lack Thereof touches on all aspects and areas of that very topic – love… and the lack of it.

The 13 tracks (all penned and co-produced by Sczebel) offer a wide variety of musical styles, including the bombastic “Causin’ A Commotion”, a high energy New Orleans/Blues jam with a beat as big as Texas. Then there’s the show-stopping 70’s inspired pop number, “Stop (You’ve Only Got One Heart)” and the feel-good Rock/Pop opener, “One By One”.

Known for his moving ballads, Sczebel’s new album is no exception with the emotive track, “Homeland” (a Grand Prize winner in the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest), the folk tinged, “This is Worth Fighting For” and the epic nine minute-long rock opera, “Canceling the Noise”, which features the Nashville string section, Love Sponge (Chris Tomlin, Brandon Heath, Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall, Backstreet Boys). This genre-bending release contains such a wide array of sounds and songs, to say there is something for everyone might just be an understatement.

Produced by Greg and Jerry Sczebel; Mixed by F. Reid Shippen (Johnny Lang, India.Arie, Backstreet Boys, A Fine Frenzy), Mike Fraser (Sam Roberts Band, Hedley, Aerosmith) and mastered by Greg Calbi (John Mayer, Bob Dylan, Avalon).

The album is released in a limited edition six-panel Digipak complete with a full color 12 page booklet.

At 19, Greg Sczebel is gaining momentum as an Urban/Soul artist on the rise.

His original music and soulful voice has been frequently compared to that of such timeless acts as, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai and Lauryn Hill and his debut album blends modern soul with his own distinct sound.

Performed with David Foster at the Foster Foundation’s gala fundraising event and shared the stage with the likes of Jay Leno, Ed McMahon and Foster’s new jazz sensation, Michael Bublé.

In early 2003, Sczebel was awarded Best Emerging Artist by Vibe Gospel Music and subsequently performed at The Vibe Awards, which were aired on national television.
In the summer of 2003, Sczebel took home 3rd place in the BC-wide Shaw Star Discovery talent search.

More recently, Sczebel was the regional winner in the Gospel Music Association’s Song competition at the annual seminar, Academy on Campus and will be competing for the final award at Estes Park, CO in August 2004.
