Ben Harper and The Blind Boys of Alabama played a sold out show at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY in October 2004.

This once in a lifetime concert put together artists of two disparate generations, wide ranging sounds and influences into one cohesive soulful, gospel rock revival.

Includes songs from the Grammy Award winning album “There Will Be A Light” and the Grammy Award winning Best Pop Instrumental Performance song 11th Commandment.

A bittersweet evening as this was Blind Boys founding member George Scott’s last concert appearance.

This project began when the Blind Boys opened for Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals for one show in Paris and both bands ended the evening together onstage.

Upon returning Stateside, Harper was supposed to work on two songs on the Blind Boys next release but magic happened in the studio and the sessions quickly turned into a full-blown collaboration.

The entire album was completed in eight days.

It topped the Billboard Gospel album chart for three consecutive weeks and is presently at number 2.

The Blind Boys were inducted into the Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame this past April.
