Julissa

Julissa... ten years later, focused on the same purpose...

As she remembers her childhood years standing in front of a fan with a hairbrush in her hand and singing tunes from those times, she can honestly say time flies. Looking back so much has happened she just turned 29 and ten of those years she has been singing.

At the age of 17, she began to sing with the group Chosen Generation. Today, she is regarded as one of the most recognized Latino artists of a new generation of singers with an impressive ministry and career with 8 musical productions and more than 10 international awards, including the most recent one from the Latin Music Fan Award awarded by the people/fans of Los Angeles, California.

Her music has been around the world from the South Pole to the most remote places of Europe. Within the last few months, she has traveled to England, Belgium, Spain demonstrating that music and language has no barriers.

Her name is everywhere. It can be found on radio lists as most listened to and her videos are seen daily through Christian broadcasts. Aside from this, she has actively participated in special productions such as: Purpose Driven Life, Israel 3, 101 of Bobby Cruz, Run Nicky Run from the life of Nicky Cruz, and the album that was nominated at the Dove Awards, Successes of Today.

A year ago, she launched her album Duetos (Duets) where she sang with prominent Latino singers such as Rene Gonzalez, Roberto Orellana and Samuel Hernandez among others. When asked to comment on Julissa this is what singer and Pastor Rene Gonzalez said, "She has her heart in her voice, her simpleness is as apparent as her skin, I pray everyday that there be more Julissa's."

She was recently chosen as one of the twenty people who has impacted youth to answer questions in the G3 Bible designed for them.

She was also invited by Nueva Esperanza USA to participate in a theme song for a Pro-AIDS event alongside Jose Luis Rodríguez (El Puma), Ricardo Montaner, Marcos Witt and others.

It does not stay there, in February 2005, she gave birth to her third son and released her latest album, My Purpose. In celebration of these ten years, she toured with Trio de Hoy and Samuel Hernandez in the Latin Passion Tour.
